Hey everyone! So I was scoping out the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear display at Walmart and noticed a few new core shades I've never seen/heard of! Had to pick some up, since Xtreme Wear is one of my fave cheap thrills.
I was pretty pumped when I got these home and found that three of the five polishes I got had an amazing "crelly" formula. A crelly, in case you didn't know, is the love child of jelly and creme finishes. They aren't as thin as jellies, and thus can be easier to apply, while still having a translucent, "squishy" quality. Normally, crellies are also supah shiny. These, however, have some neon pigments, and thus dried a bit more satin. Topcoat fixes that right up, though!
Okay, Intro to Polish lesson done! Onto swatches!
Sally Hansen Purple Craze is a mid-toned purple crelly. 2 coats plus topcoat. This was the first of these crellies I swatched, and I was a bit over confident in how opaque 2 coats would be. It really needed another coat, I think, but it only really showed in the sunlight.
Purple Craze is very similar to China Glaze Creative Fantasy, which came out with the Cirque du Soleil collection awhile back. Purple Craze is slightly darker, and had a more opaque formula. Two coats of Purple Craze vs four coats of Creative Fantasy.
Sally Hansen Royal Rage is a gorgeous cobalt blue crelly. This is three coats plus topcoat, since it dried a bit matte.
Here is Royal Rage compared with Revlon Royal and Sinful Endless Blue. Endless blue is a bit starker, probably because it's a true creme.
Sally Hansen Tan Lime is a bright grass green crelly. Three coats plus topcoat. I looked through my stash and had nothing very close to this, crelly or otherwise. Great shade for St. Patrick's Day! The name for this is hilarious to me.
Sally Hansen Tango-rine is a bright Kraft Mac N Cheese orange shimmer. This is super fun, it would look so amazing on someone who isn't the palest pale that ever paled. The downside is that this took 5 coats (plus topcoat), which is ridiculous. It's a bit neon, so I probably needed to layer it over white.
Finally, Sally Hansen Vivid Violet is a bright fuchsia with aqua shimmer. This is so dang pretty, and super sparkly. It needed three coats, plus some tippy toppy. Sorry.
Now, if you've been keeping up with all the new Finger Paints polishes that have come out, Vivid Violet may look a bit familiar. That's because it's basically a dupe for Finger Paints Gorgeous Graffiti. It's not quite as dark, and not as opaque.
I have a sickness, guys. I bought these two the same. day. Like, maybe 30 minutes between each other. And both times, I remember thinking "Oh! How unique!" So.
