I was so excited by the news that there were some sparkly Sally Hansen Sugar Coats shades instead of just cremes (mattes?). I got Royal Icing, a beautiful glittery blue with gold and pink shimmer and practically skipped home to swatch it. Alas! I was to be disappointed. Now, the picture above is deceptive, this was after some coaxing and layering, but let me show you what this polish looks like straight from the bottle...
I won't sugar coat it (hurr hurr), this is not cute. Super sheer (this is after three coats!) and patchy. But I wanted so desperately to make it work! I tried this over a couple blues and finally got it looking how I had hoped with two coats layered over NYC Raindrop, as my first picture demonstrated.
Much better!
Now, of course, it was also amazing with top coat (or rather, 2 coats of Gelous with 1 coat NYC Grand Central Station. I'm happy with the result, but I don't think that I can really recommend this. If you think it's worth effort, it's very pretty and unique among all the texture polishes I have seen. But I'm sure as this trend runs its course there will be something similar that pops up with a much better formula.
